Boys and Girls Club of Marshfield Receives Bronze Award At
Relay for Life

Thirty-four club kids from the Boys and Girls Club of Marshfield participated in the Relay for Life of Marshfield. The Torch Club, a leadership club within the Club, organized the teams to show support for three Club kids whose parents have been affected by cancer. Teams participating in Relay for Life were required to raise $100 per person and the kids coordinated fundraisers and raised $7,000 for the walk. The Boys and Girls Club team was one of three teams that participated in the event that raised the most money. They received a Bronze award from the American Cancer Society at the event. Club Executive Director, Greg Jackson, commended the kids for taking on such a large project. “The Torch Club is required to do community outreach but it is usually done on a much smaller scale. This was a huge undertaking and all the kids were very pro-active in raising the money and organizing the event. We are extremely proud of them for taking the initiative and raising the money but most of all for showing such empathy for their fellow club members.”

The kids walked in alternating teams for 24 hours around a track at the Marshfield high school football field. They displayed their team pride and even created songs to chant while they walked. The teams consisted of: Lindsay Burke, Jillian Comoletti, Stephanie McQuillan, Kayla Joyal, Alison Wiedman, Emily Burke, Courtney Ternullo, Kathryn Meader, Gina Dibeneditto, Brittany Mullaney, Jackie Abdallah, Kelly O’Sullivan, Joel Hubbard, Ryan O’Rourke, Jack Topham, Zach Tedford, Joe Cronin, Corey Karlberg, Eric Sawtelle, Billy Bowers, Devlin Foley, Connor Fitzgerald, Connor O’Sullivan, Mike Foley, Chloe DuBois, CJ Rodger, Kristen Fletcher, Angela Chaisson, Katie Brensel, Maggie Romero, Jennifer Robbins, Kim Robbins, Stephanie Robbins, Malissa McQuillan & two team mascots, Molly Looney & Jennifer Anderson!
