President
Jim Murphy is the President of the Board of Directors. Jim has been a member of the Board for over nine years. During that time, he has served as Executive Vice President of the Board, Chairperson of the Administration Committee, Chairperson of the Strategic Committee and worked on many of the fund-raising events sponsored by the Club. Jim has lived in Marshfield for 26 years he and his wife Lisa have a son Timothy who is 21, currently a senior at American University in Washington DC and a daughter Maggie who is 18 about to begin her freshman year at UConn.
Professionally, Jim is employed in the finance department at South Shore Hospital. He is also an active member of St Anne’s by the Sea as well as having served as a coach for many years in Marshfield Youth Sports programs that span the seasons.
Exec. Vice President
Bill Bowers is Vice President for Commercial Lending at Hingham Institution for Savings and has been in the banking and real estate financing field on the South Shore for more than 18 years. He was first elected president of the board for the Boys & Girls Club in May 2001 and re-elected in 2002, 2003 and 2004. He is the Co-Chair of Marshfield’s Grad Nite Live Committee. He is an active member of the Town of Marshfield – Coast Guard Hill Building Committee, a Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish in Green Harbor, Chairman of the Plymouth & South Shore Association of Realtors – Networking Committee and the Year 2001 recipient of the Associations “Affiliate of the Year” award.
Bill has been associated with several organizations on the South Shore including; Special Olympics of Massachusetts, the Old Colony United Way as well as the Marshfield, Plymouth Area and Metro West Chambers of Commerce.
A life-time summer resident of Marshfield and a year-round resident since 1985, Bill lives with his wife Nancy and sons Billy, Brian and Stephen.
Diane Rodger
Secretary/Clerk
Dianne Rodgers is one of the founding members of the BOD, serving as Secretaty since 2006 when she filled in as temporary Secretary, permenantly since 2007. Dianne volunteers for many club events such as the monthly Friday Nite Dances, the GALA, haunted house and recently Polar Express as one of the Mrs. Clauses.
She has lived in Marshfield since 1992 with daughter CJ age 14, who is entering high school fall of 2009. Dianne worked in Boston for 31 years in the financial industry, and for the last 6 years has worked down the Cape in order to spend more time with her daughter.
