2010 Evening of Stars Gala
After months of planning, our 2010 Evening of Stars Gala went off without a hitch! Guests had fun mingling and bidding on a wonderful selection of silent auction items and took their chance on the Wheel of Prizes. Many had their caricature done by Building 19 illustrator Mat Brown or graphic artist Sue Peterson.
Father Carmichael of Saint Anne’s Parish gave the invocation and introduced our welcome video produced by Tami Degelder and starring kids from the Club. Master of Ceremonies and Marshfield resident Bill Shields of Channel 4 took the podium and welcomed our dignitaries and honored guests.
The Sheehan Family Foundation generously presented a check for $100,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Marshfield. Bill then introduced Club president Jim Murphy who presented our Media Award to Micha Flores of the Marshfield Mariner and our Star Leadership Award to Board Member Ross Troiano for outstanding service.
After dinner, Bill presented club kid Mike Russell with our Youth of the Year Award. Our Star Honorees Maureen and Jim Robinson were then presented with their award. Paul Vercollone and Bill Sheilds revved up the crowd with their Live Auction and everyone’s favorite “Heads or Tails” game.
Dancing followed the program and we are happy to announce a record breaking fundraising event. Thank you to all our guests, sponsors, and volunteers for their exceptional generosity!
